Last week was for me an unforgettable experience (no, not Fire, for those who'll get it 5).
Being in Manchester for a few days, I finally took the opportunity to do the Memorial Tour in Macclesfield, organised by Trevor Stokes.
Besides being a beautiful sunny midsummer day, this tour had something of almost a mystical experience.
Walking in lan's steps meant a lot to an old, long time absolute tan like me.
I would highly recommend it to any of you for who there is more than just the music, those who connect to who lan was and his legacy, his pain, joys and sorrows.
Even better, Trevor is a fantastic guide, knowing more than just all the anecdotes, being a first-hand witness.
He is also this kind of genuinely kind, warm and welcoming Northern bloke. A real addition to the tour itself.
My personal highlight was of course, probably like many others, the visit to lan's grave. Emotional and indescribable. Trevor had the reserve and humanity to leave us a few minutes there, alone with lan, the memories, the feelings and the myths...
Thanks to Trevor Stokes, a real, modest and simple ordinary hero.
It's humbling to me that our lan remembered by people who probably never knew him, and want to know more about him, Trevor is a man who is honouring lan by doing these tours, and I thank him, he's one of the gooduns, thank you guys x
Did the tour with Trevor on 19th May when it was a quieter day to remember Ian's passing on 18th... it was a fabulous tour x
Trevor Stokes is a very special guy and his tour is emotional, heartfelt and genuinely moving. More power to him!
Trevor puts a lot of work and love in his tour!
Every JD fan, who comes near there should contact him for a tour!
